Trying to Get Jet Boat Running

I have a 1997 Challenger (single engine) jet boat. It wouldn’t start this year so I took it to a marine mechanic.

They said this on the invoice:

“Requires further diagnosis. Blocked oil lines, flushed out cylinders, got engine running, smoked a lot, opened oil lines once smoke subsided. Ran engine, does not want to idle well, suspect oil in crank case yet. Suggest adding sea foam to the tank and taking it for a good lake run. (it will be finicky to get running/wound out but should clear up, if it does not recommend carb rebuild)”

I ran it on the lake for 15-20 minutes. It started great. Then it started stalling and sometimes would run limp. I also have a little white smoke (but it did last year too).

In then noticed the oil light come on and took the boat to shore.

When I got it back home, i check the oil injection reservoir, and it appears bone dry.

I’m not sure if the mechanic didn’t check this or if there’s an oil leak.

I’d like to put more oil in and run some tests, but I read that I shouldn’t mix oil brands.

My question is: how do I do an oil and filter change on a 1998 Challenger?

Thanks so much for any help. I feel quite out of my element.
