I've gotten mixed answers on this subject,I will be travelling 3hrs to the lake each time @ 60+mph,can I keep the factory cover on,and do I use the 2 batons to "tent it" while moving or leave it loose?

Tough question....

That's a tough one. Reason being, the covers will all act differently depending on what's towing it. Some vehicles have a good air flow over the vehicle that there isn't any down force on the cover, therefore, not a lot of disturbance in the material.

Others don't have any or a less amount and the cover may beat the boat to death.........so, it's all in what's towing it and how much air is actually flowing over or on top of..........good luck.

Leave it off and make sure the plugs are out, so if it rains the water leaves as fast as it gets in. Your Mooring cover is not rated to go 65MPH+.

cover?

Thanks guys ,last 10 miles is dusty gravel road, maybe I'll put it on then:)I'll be going slower.
PS 65+mph in canadian is 80:cheers:

A traveling cover will say so on it.

Lee I have traveling covers on my seadoo's. They suck tight to the boat when traveling, and are made for that purpose. If it is a traveling cover it will say so. If not is isn't ans will do more damage than it is worth. Most traveling covers ratchet tight at the rear, for a vacuum effect. They will also have 2 vents to allow it to vacuum tight when traveling.

Man, you must have the bucks!

He's got bucks!.......I can barely afford the damn cover I bought from Walmart to protect it from UV rays, much less one of those fancy covers that stay on while doing 65 mph (that's 85mph translated to florida speeds) while going down the road.........

This is the one I have for my boat- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-0...006QQitemZ160243583502QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Works just fine on the highway. I got lucky and found someone selling an unused one on ebay for a fair price, so I saved a nice amount of $$$ on it!! I was hitting ebay from time to time looking at them over a couple of weeks and the day I finally broke down and decided to buy one, I found the one I bought listed. Good timing :). Only thingis mine is for boats with tower, mine doesn't have one. Worth it for the savings though.

Well i just got my 96 challenger it had a green cover on it by the time i got it home the cover had left green marks all the way around it.

I did however find a new cover with ratchiit in the back for 200+ shipping of 20 here here

I still think from now on i will remove it

Ratchet

Mine has a ratchet on the right side,I'll have to check if it says "travelling cover".Does anybody know what the purpose of the two aluminum uprights to "tent" the cover are for ? Seller told me not to travel with them up.oops:driving: too late:)
BTW nice helpers on your avatar Seadoosnipe, makes me want to buy a wake tower now:rofl:

I got mine from poppies on eBay, cost $300+ but i think it will travel 110 no problem's.
As Karl said, they have vent to cause a vacuum and it sticks like s.....t to a blanket.
Your are not supposed to travel with the poles in, they are for when it's parked to stop the water pooling on the cover.
Anti-pooling poles.

Hmm, I didn't know not to leave the pole in. I traveled with mine in with no problem. If I have to take the cover off/lift it to remove the pole before leaving, it's just as easy to leave the cover home lol.

I have a 2003 Utopia with the factory travel cover. There is a little warning label on the ratchet bag that says not to travel with the anti-pooling poles installed. So I don't.
