Just recently got into fishing off of my 1996 Seadoo Speedster and now I'm looking into trolling motors for my boat. The only posts I've found so far have been bow mounted trolling motors, which I like the idea of, but I like the price of transom trolling motors much better. Since transom mounted trolling motors are usually attached by clamping onto something (such as the back of a john boat), is it possible to mount something on the back of a Speedster for a trolling motor to attach to? I usually fish off of the rear deck anyways so it makes more sense for me to have it back there. Any ideas on how this could be accomplished?

I'm imagining an piece of aluminum angle mounted top of deck near the edge. Like 4" or more, can add aluminum plate(s) as desired to increase size. Sorta like a custom jack plate. There are outboard jack plates available of many types and configurations, you might find one that suits your needs?
