Hey guys/galls. Ive been looking for several months into getting a sea doo speedster 200. I have an 07 Toyota Tacoma and was wondering if it would be able to pull the boat with out any issues? I would be pulling it about 30 miles one way. thanks for any help you can give!!!

It will pull it with NO PROBLEMS!!!

You won't even know it is there.

I towed my Maverick home (see avatar pic) with a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner. That was 3000 lbs of car at the time (before I cut a bunch of that weight for drag racing).

Your 1000 lb boat and trailer will barely affect your drive, in my opinion.

That is assuming you have a V6...Not sure how the 4 cyl will pull. Might do it, but be a little slow.

dude I have a 01 ford e250 van with v6 and I can pull both of my watercrafts. 08 rxtx is not a problem at all, the 08 challenger 180 is a bit heavier and with this POS van I can definitly notice it. up the hill is slow, and at braking it will push the can forward. I used my dads 05 frontier v6 and that truck didnt even feel it. challenger is some 2200lbs with trailer, I think.
so if my van with 370K miles and engine that missfires all the time can do it then tacoma is way ahead. youll be fine just as long as you have the proper towing package.

I have a 05 Nissan Exterra off-road and had no problem pulling my speedster 200 uphill to Lake Tahoe from Carson City. It also was full of fuel (40gals). It has the 267 hp V6. I kept a constant 40-45 mph up the hill.

Cool........

Oh, I gotcha all beat!.........I pull my 97 Challenger to the waterfront with my Craftsman lawn tractor.

I do have waterfront property, so I don't have to pull it too far......

:drool5: nice ski!

yeah its fun, but can kick you in butt if youre not carefull. my brother in law flew of it on saturday, and I hurt my wrist while jumping some waves. I wish we had the video of him flying off, he did something similar to gymnastic fliping star or whatever you call it.

It'll work I tow two skis with box full of stuff plus two fuel cans..

I get about 14-15 MPG towing it at 65-75.
have about the same trip 50 miles round trip 20 each way free way.

Tacoma could totally do it......I mean if my 1996 Subaru Legacy 2.2L could tow with two HXs, you've got nothing to worry about. Yeah, this was a bit heavy.:D

This was a more typical scenario.:driving:

I blew a head gasket on the Subaru's engine because of a crappy waterpump (not because I towed jetskis just so we are clear on this!:toetap05:). That's the Subaru 135,000 mile engine on the Seadoo's trailer.:(

But now I have a proper (albeit gas thirsty) towing platform. :) We still use the Subaru as a daily driver though. :)

Problem is that the Speedster 200 is closer to 4000lbs (not 1000lbs) including the trailer (at least the new ones are). The 2007 Tacoma is rated to tow between 3500lbs and 6500lbs depending on if you have the inline 4 or the V-6. So if you have the V6 you should be good to go (but I wouldn't say you won't notice it) but if you have the I4 you probably can't. For tow ratings of different vehicles check out the link at www.trailerlife.com.
