Towing tube issue with 96 GTX

We have been pulling a one-person tube with our GTX. It is fun, but the tow rope dragging in the water creates a forced stream of water into the face of the tuber. What are we missing here?

It appears a higher attachment point for the rope on the ski would fix this. Is there such a thing available for that old of a ski, or is there another obvious solution we are missing?

Also, could we be pulling a water skier with this rig?

Maybe its the shape of the tube, we use a horse shoe shaped twin person tube and don't seem to have that problem.
I really can't help with the rigging issue ( setting up a towing rig higher) but look around there might be something.
On the issue of pulling a skier out of the water if it's powered by the 951 rotax there's no reason you can't pull em up.
