Would it possible for a member to please post a clear picture of the hose that should be squeezed with a hose clamp in case of being towed? I want to mark the proper hose with some tape, but the owners manual pic is pretty small and not very clear. I did a search on the forum and could not find a pic shown anywhere. Thanks in advance for the help!!!!!!!

ya i looked in my manual and the picture is pretty poopy.I also would like some clarification on this if someone has a picture. And what do yo use to squeze it anyway?

I Picked up what is called "RADIATOR HOSE PINCH-OFF PLIERS" from Harbor Freight Tools (item # 99704) for $7.99. It will work perfect once I know for sure which hose to pinch. I plan to leave it on my boat in case I break down and need to be towed. Once I know the right hose, I will wrap some white electrical tape around the spot that the pliers will be pinching. Still hoping someone will post a clear pic.

I asked the seadoo tech this question today when i picked my boat up after service. There are two hoses on the passenger side of the driveshaft towards they back of the engine compartment. You want to clamp the larger one that is normally on the bottom. I tried to mark it with an arrow. Let me know if anybody needs a better picture.

BTW this is for a seadoo speedster 150 155hp. Probably the same for 255hp but i am not positive.

Don' know why, but when I click on your thumbnails they are coming in so super large, its impossible to make out. Does anyone know, on my part, how to reduce the image. Thanks!

Here is a picture of mine. The hose in question is the one with the red tow tap installed as looking from above.

Im not sure, they look fine on my computer. I can take some more if you need them, but it sounds like you got it now.

Hey Davo, is that a valve (red) you installed there for towing? Looks like you cut the hose and installed it in between. I was going to mark that same hose with red tape and use a squeeze clamp for towing (which I hope never happens, lol)

cool, I had the red tap put on for 100% peace of mind, just on the one in a million chance the coast guard tow me back real fast & I can't find the clamp. Either way will work fine.
Hope the photos helped you out.
cheers

There are times when you want to tow your boat that have nothing to do with being rescued. We rent house boats at Lake Powell, and tow my challenger behind for several hours until we reach our cove.

I have been clamping, but after seeing your inline valve, I'm going to install one on my boat...Great job!

I keep an ordinary wood clamp in my tool kit on the boat. I know which hose it is, however I don't have a pic to post.

Can you please explain the reason why you need to clamp this hose in the event you are being towed?

If you tow a ski, (I thought only 2 strokes but someone, dennis I think, said 4 strokes also) water can be forced into the cooling hoses that leads to the motor. With out the motor running to push the water thru the water can and will get into the cylinders and cause hydrolock. If the ski is towed at a speed of less than 5mph then you probably don't have to worry, but pinching the right hose is also safer.

I'm sure someone else can explain it better but I hope you get the drift of the reason.

Thanks for the explanaition, interesting. I guess I need to check on that given that I was towed yesterday.
