Hey guys, read the awesome thread by Dr Honda to remove the pump. Am currently replacing the impeller.

How tight do i need the bolts when i re-install the pump? Any torque specifications?

Also, the pump had a bunch of silicone (which is not a concern) and no shims (weird?) when I removed it. When I go to re-install I would rather use the neoprene seal. Pros and cons of doing this? Should I just use silicone since thats what was there before?

Thanks guys,

Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

There are probably torque specs. in the service manual, I have never used them, use blue locktite, and just tighten. As far as no shims, actually it's fairly rare to find shims on pumps, one my three ski's none of them have pump shims. You align the motor to the pump.

I'd definately go with neoprene seal. Seals just fine and lot easier to get the pump off next time around.

On the 1998 Seadoo Speedster, the manual says 24 lbs. for the nuts attaching the pump to the transom.

Sorry guys. My mistake. My head is full of impeller stuff. The 70 is for the impeller torque. Again. Sorry.
