That's probably it! You don't mention what motor(s).. I had a Challenger 2000 with a 250 Optimax, 54 on a good day. Friend had an 1800 with the 240 Merc, 50 was it.

You're probably doing well at 58 then! I think the only 90's/2000's boats that beat 60 were the Speedsters, much smaller boats at 14' and 16' .. Note too SeaDoo speedo's lie like crazy, if that's off the speedo, you may find GPS not so fast. When I did 57mph by Speedo on my Challenger, it was 52 on GPS

yes I was going to say "only?". my 98 challenger went 50 on gps with new wear rings and a fully loaded boat. I can't remember what the speedo said at that speed but it did over state the speed

If you guys are getting 58-60mph I want to know what your secret is...unless you are looking at the dream-o-meter (speedometer) or it is on your trailer behind your car.
These boats are rated 45ish top speed.

I will check my speedo with gps before end of season. My neighbor has a 2001 challenger with a merc. It will go 60 when we first put it in the water but that's not gps either
