I just bought a 07 rxt with 19 hours on it, the guy said it would go 70mph. He had it serviced before he dropped it off at my house, it seems to run fine, but nowhere near the speed of my 05 rxp. it tops out at about 53 mph at 6400 rpm? This doesn't seem right, ive double checked and also used the learners key, and I have the correct DESS key in. Is something wrong or this as fast as it will go?

There is definately something wrong. It should reach 70mph easily. Performance should be very similar to an RXP maybe just a little slower off the line. It doesn't seem to be a speedo problem either since you are lacking rpms.

Is it a supercharged model? If so it should rev close to 7800 rpm I can't remember for sure but I know the limiter kicks in at 8000. Naturally Aspirated the limiter kicks in at 7650.

Im guessing yours is supercharged and there is a problem with your supercharger. Is it still under warranty?

Yeah its still under warrenty, it just doesn't make sense that it accelerates fine up to 50 and 6400 rpm, then feels like thats it, no hesitation or sputtering. The dealership said it might be the SC or the wear ring, its going in next week.

The dealer sounds to be on the money. Have you changed the spark Plugs by chance to see if that did anything? Sometimes a fouled spark plug will do the same thing.
