Hey guys/gals, I have a 2016 GTI limited. All of last season I topped out at 58-9 mph. This year, I can't get over 53. I just had the camshaft sensor replaced after it threw a check engine light and code, and was hoping that would address the power loss too. It didn't. Still only topping at 54. Any thoughts? Also any thoughts on why a brand new unit would be having sensor issues... As always, I appreciate the help and expertise as I learn!!

How many hours are on the ski? Have you ingested anything in the jet pump? Damage to impellers/wear rings is a common cause of lost thrust and consequently ... speed. Inspect the pump for damage.

As for speed, are you talking about GPS speed or information center indicated? It could be you are going just as fast as last year, but your indication is inaccurate.

On the sensor issue, it's probably, just a random sensor failure. Those are impossible to predict, but they do happen. I take it the sensor was replaced under warranty and proper troubleshooting was performed to isolate the check-engine light to the sensor.

50 hours. Indicator speed. And yes, warranty by Dealer. I guess you're probably right about the speed, maybe I'm just hypersensitive!! Thanks for the intake advice, I'll check it out.
