Im going to change the oil for the first time and on top of the oil filter cap, there is a crazy looking bolt. What tool do I need? It looks like a torx type of thing and if it is, what size is it? Also, any tips on removing the oil filter cap?

I read that it is a E-10 Torx. But have read that an 8mm socket fits right over the torx and removes it with no damage.

If you want to try the 8mm option, check it for fit before you really go to town on it...

If you plan on doing your own changes, I would get a set or Trox bits and be done with it.

The 8mm will work with some 8mm sockets not all. The cheaper sockets aren't exactly made to exact specs all the time. Best bet is to get a torx bit. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

What chucked/coastaljoe said, but you need E-Torx bits, not torx bits. E-torx is the female version of torx ... if your going to start working on 4tecs just buy a set. 6mm through to 12mm
