Well, the computer on the screen now says 7 hours?

This is the 4th time I take my New 2011 Sea Doo Speedster out, went to Puddingstone Lake this time.

Here are some pictures:

My friend just fixed his older boat, rebuilt 454 Chevy V8 500 horsepower jetboat, and let me take a ride in it.

Wow, it really blew my boat out the water...

I didnt realize how powerful those older boats are, it pulled me back, does the 255hp Speedster do that?

Hmmm, I've never attempted a hole shot on my speedster 255hp. I'll try it out this weekend and let you know.

Do you have pictures of your friend's boat?

By the way that lake looks pretty nice!

Yea, as a matter of fact I do have a picture, Ill post it up right in a few...

The lake is extremely small, but its very safe, its ridiculously safe, theres like "6" lifeguards on the water (on top of a boogie board) lifeguards on duty "always" in the swimming area..

And there are 3 patrol boats "always" patrolling, the coast guard even told me that it gives off a false sense of security.

I like Castaic Lake, and Lake Piru much better (much bigger), and ofcourse Lake Mohave or Lake Mead is humongous.

So you never tried a hole shot? I bet you can beat most... let me put a picture of his boat..

Here is my friends boat, this is the only good picture I have

wow his boat is the size of ours with a V8, no wonder why it is so fast. I'm in Georgia and I go to Clark's Hill Lake which is over a hundred miles around if I'm not mistaken. No life guards, LOL. There are areas that are up to 300ft deep. It was created by the US Corps of Engeneers.

Nice pictures..i am interested in consumption of your 255hp speedster and your driving habits :) due to reason that i am now doubting between 155 hp and 255 hp..thanks mate

Boost doesnt start to really ramp up until past 6000rpm on the supercharged motors, so while cruising @ 5000-6000ish they(215/255) will see fuel consumption similar to the n/a 155 motor. WOT will suck it down of course, gotta fuel it to make power!

Gotta pay to play brother!!! WOT will suck gas but is not that bad. I have fun all day long with one tank of gas. And that's even pulling a tube and going WOT from time to time.

Wonderful.. maybe Im regretting not getting the 255? Umm, maybe, maybe not, I have a lot of fun with my 155, the thing is that I got so many incentives by going with my boat.. ah forget it, thats another story..

Im sure with the speedster 200, twin 255, I doubt many boats can touch it, though a powerful jetboat like my friend is extremely cheap, he paid $1800, but he blew out the motor at Lake Havasu and just spend over $2,000 in getting it fixed, he told me he was in it for $4500, not bad, plus its a V8, so all those regulations about the 2 stroke ban doesnt apply to him as well.

I guess each boat has its positives and negatives, I really like the way my boat looks on the pictures :)

I am sorry if i am bothering you guys but the reason is fuel prices in my country are expensive 1L of fuel is USD 1,84 or EUR 1,46 or GBP 1,16

Than either one is great in gas!

3 Times I took my boat out for like 4 hours, and each time it only spent 1/4 tank - 25% of the 21 gallons, thats extremely unbelievable. This time though, it said it had a little over half a tank, almost 3/4, and I did spent all of my fuel.

However, I went "non" stop, full wot at 6800rpm for most of those hours (from 2 to 7), I didnt not get out of the water! ahahah, loved it!
pretty amazing, I think I am using less than half of the gas I used to spend on my old sportster..

3/4 of the tank for 5 hours of moderate driving thats excellent. :)

Some guys said that with 155hp and with 4 pax onboard she doesn't perform good (she is loosing power during turns). - whats your opinion about it?

Its ok with 4 people on board, but yes, I believe is losing power, I havent even tried my boat by myself, so I have nothing to compare... But if thats your concern you should really go for the 255, it really wasnt my concern, my boat is really quick already, and I have a 16 year old and a 9 year old, also I had a 12 year old with me..

But if money wasnt an issue, I would have opted for the 255, but I didnt want to spend the exra $7000, and I didnt want to lose the 3 year warranty, and I also didnt want to wait! :)

I have money to buy a 155 or 255 hp. Thats is not a problem. Only thing whats is bothering me is fuel consumption.

As per your explanation in previous threads I beleive that i can run 155 hp aprox 5-7 hours without refuling on combined WOT or cruising speed and I found that excellent

However I like 255 hp due to his power BUT I am doubting because of his consumption (WHICH I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS ON COMBINED WOT AND CRUISING SPEED) due to reason that I am living on Danube river without gas station on water.

Well, hopefully someone here (which I know there a lot of our friends! :), help this gentleman out...

What is the true fuel consumption of a 255? I really could use my 155 the whole day 7 to 8 hours on 1 tank of gas! what about the 255 guys?

You are not bothering anybody. That's what forums are for brother. Believe me I understand you. I'm in the military and I was stationed in Germany. Gas is outrageous up there. Well, I usually get to the lake at about 10am and leave around 5 or 6pm. I pace myself. We ride a while then we stop in the middle of the lake and swim for a while. That way so far we usually use only 1/2 a tank. If we ride all day we use one tank. I don't pay attention to the hours too much. We have about 16 hrs on the boat right now.

I hope this helps!

Do you have 255 HP one?

Wow awesome!, so basically it's just like the 155, I guess it doesn't use the boost till needed, man I should have gone for the 255, can I ask how much you paid though?

But still on higher rpm 255 hp is using lot more of fuel (Am I right or not?). Howewer, if you have 3 or 4 peole on board 255hp will handle it easier comparing to the 155 hp which will probably put more effort to handle situation and more fuel to keep up the speed.

Guys can I drive 155 hp on unleded 95 octan fuel (in my country is called Euro super 95)

How many octane is regular 87 and premium fuel

Premium is between 91 and 93. And yes 95 is very good. The higher the octane the better the performance.

I got mine for 18.5 out the door, but yours was a 2012, 255hp, and wakeboard tower..., also did you opt for the 3 year warranty, if not yet, you should l

Yes I have the 3yr warranty. So, all and all I got a good deal. Most people pay 25.5k for what I got.
