Too much gas

What can cause too much gasoline to be delivered to the carbs? Everytime I give it full throttle, it seems to bog down around 2500 rpms and when it bogs down if you put your hand over the carbs you can feel a fine mist shooting up out of the carbs.

Don't you already have a thread about the bogging ?

FYI... fuel mist isn't any indication of running rich. 2-strokes always spit. Put the air box back on... that's why it's there.

I originally did that I put everything back together took it to the lake and it is doing the blogging around 3000 RPMs it won’t go any higher so I took it off and it’s doing the same thing when you take it off but when you run a hose in the yard and give it full throttle it will go to 7000 RPMs

I bought a 2001 Challenger, very clean boat, all the inside has been redone...The first day, the left engine kept stalling...took it to the mechanic that works on ou
r jet skis...@$2300 later we put it in the water and ran pretty well for a full day. Tried to get on the lake today and the left engine won't even start. Is there a trick to running these boats because other than replacing the motor...my mechanic tested everything.

OK I swapped out the carburetors took it to the lake just got back in still doing the same exact thing you could put your hand over the carburetor and feel the gas coming out so this leads me to believe that something is going on possibly with the M P OK I swapped out the carburetors took it to the lake just got back in still doing the same exact thing you could put your hand over the carburetor and feel the gas coming out so this leads me to believe that something is going on possibly with the MPEM... Does anybody in the middle part of Michigan know a good reputable place so I could take this piece of shit too and have them fix it

OK I just had a thought, I would like to swap out the coils like I did the carburetors to see if the problem follows the coils so how in the world do I disconnect the wires, the spark plug wires, from the coil?

Just take the coils with the plug wires. but.....

If it's running up to 3,000 and starts fine then your coils are probably fine.

Didn't you have rotary timing issues previously? An out of time rotary valve or clearance can cause poor vacuum like you are having. So will too much fuel and flooding.

It really wasn’t rotary timing. I just asked if there should have a mark on the crankcase for lining up the stator

Your engines do not have a mark, the timing has to be set with a pointer and timing light per the manual.

Yes there was a mark and the crank case to align the stator up. Also per the manual it states to line up the timing marks
