too many ohms on coil?

the manual states the generating coil should be between .05-.6 ohms, i got a reading of about 1.1 with the yellow/black and yellow wire. Started with battery at 11.95v and it got to about 12.7 at 5,000rpm. Am thinking that once I charge battery to about 12.5, the charge should be somewhere in the 13's. Do you think this higher resistance will this decrease my charging power? Is this a sign of something breaking down?
