Recently I purchased a few parts that are confirmed correct for my 96 GTX. The wear ring measures 3/16” wider than the housing should it not be flush like the original. Likely it would inhibit proper reinstallation of the pump. Also. I got a carbon ring kit. And the washers that seat inside the ring seal are slightly larger than the original it won’t allow the seal past the flange on the driveshaft. Has anyone had similar problems. Titan sent new seals but I suspect they are also too big they would not confirm the actual size for comparison.

I use a TITAN Parts on Skis I restore. Good Stuff. Install the wear ring and don't worry about it. :) You'll be fine. I think the best for the money is the stock wear ring though. I put Loctite 609 on all my wear rings. They tap in easier and they ain't coming back out. LOL I've pounded a few in and I don't like doing that. Good Luck !

I started using Loctite 609 because it is recommended when installing the Wear Rings on the 155mm Pumps. Those wear rings are noticeably more loose than the 140mm. I've had to drive a few 140mm Wear rings in position myself. Not long ago I decided to try the lubricity of the Loctite 609 to decrease friction between the wear ring and the housing on the 140mm pumps. Man does that ever work good !! I love it and I don't have to beat the hell out of the Wear Ring. :D I did make a jack/puller to install the wear rings without beating them up but this works better to me.

609 is pretty expensive and I'm not sure how easy the wear ring is gonna come back out but I don't think it will be a problem. Of course, the way the Seadoo Shops remove and replace wear rings it might be a problem for them but.... I doubt that too. I do a lot of wear rings. :D

Its not the diameter of the wear ring or the thickness of the material but the width that is too big which would make it so that the pump would not sit flush against the poly seal and back of the ride shoe

I just put a Titan Wear ring on my wife's 1997 GTX 2 days ago. It seemed like it stuck out a little more than the one I removed. I've used many of these wear rings in the past and the all look like that to me so I wasn't all that concerned. I paid close attention to make sure it seated properly and I took the ski to the water the next day, no issues.

I understand your concern. You could install the pump with no gasket, shaft or reverse gate to make it easy and use a feeler gauge to determine of the pump is drawing up tight enough to seal against the rubber grommets/washers. I'd say measure the one you removed that chances are that might not OEM. Good Luck !

Thanks. I may go ahead and put the new one in and see what happens. I think what I have in there now is the original

For a while I was buying only OEM Wear Rings but last years insanity closed the local Seadoo Shop. I happen to have TITAN and WSM Wear Rings (140)mm I'm glad your post coerced me into measuring them. The measurements are much closer than the feel and look. Machinist Scales are great tools. Ha ha. What I don't have is an OEM wear ring to compare. Basically these two are the same size 2-3/4". Often feel doesn't quite translate into reality. As I said, I have not had an issue with any wear ring.... I don't like the design of the sealing area on the TITAN but they may well make the part that way for a specific reason. I'd be interested in why. Here are some pictures for you to draw your own conclusions. Good Luck.
