Throttle Sticky

I have recently purchased a 2000 Speedster SK and have had this one problem 2 different times now. Cruising across the lake at about 35-40 MPH and go to slow down and i cant slow down slower than 2800 RPM's. I cant even put the boat in neutral unless i pull the throttle lever back and hold it and simultaniously put the boat in neutral but it still is revved up to 2800 RPM's. The first time this happened somehow after going back across the lake it stopped and the throttle was back to normal. The 2nd time it still has not gotten back to normal and this just happened on Sunday. You can tell the throttle isnt pulled all the way back but is acting like its stuck or there is something preventing it from being pulled all the way back. If someone has any resolution or suggestions i would appreciate it.

hey...pull the lever system apart, regrease if needed, then check the cable for frey....:cheers:
