Throttle lever question

My port throttle lever will not stay in position, it just wants so spring back to the idle position if I relax my hand a bit. Unlike the starboard lever which it stays put. Where can I add some resistance to the lever, is it in the lever assembly itself or back on the carbs somewhere?

there is a tension set screw. you`ll need to remove the trim piece and control assy to see and adjust the tension set screw.
I did a print and scan, so click on the picture to see... This is from our Challenger, yours should be similar (I think)

I am having the same issue, but mine is threaded all the way in with no change in friction. Any thoughts on what is causing that?

When I pulled mine apart last year, there was a spring with a rubber cap behind the set screw. No idea if that's OEM or not but it works.

be sure you're using the right size screwdriver, especially if its already pretty tight. the screw within the throttle handle assembly is a big one. I also had a problem with the port side handle. the guy i bought it from said he bought it that way and drove all the time with his hand on the throttles. I made sure i called him the day after i bought the 97 speedster to say it was a 5-minute fix.
