Hey guys, just wanted to get some input. I am thinking about starting a forum purely for kawasaki jet ski owners, I know a lot of you only own Seadoo but for those of you who dont do you think it would be worth it? I havent found a kawasaki forum purely for the jet skis like this one is purely for seadoos. Any input would be great!

Thanks

I think the first thing you need to do is change your name from Seadooguy10 to Kawasakiguy10.

Names aren't everything.

Anyway... if you think you can do it... then go for it. Unfortunately... for whatever reason... I've seen a ton of chat boards come and go. The problem is... unless there is traffic on it... people won't come. SO... you need a group of people, who know Kawi, and are willing just to make posts to keep the traffic flowing at first. Also... it cost a good chunk of $$$ to make it work well. If you don't get up on Google hits... then people won't know about it. SO... if you want it to be good... you will need to put $$$ out for advertising.

heres an idea -- since this is the NON-SEADOO-PWC-TALK section, start a KAWASAKI thread -- bring your knowledge to a thread right here !!!!!!

i've seen quite a few pwc forums come and go, these day's its hard to start from scratch and keep it going long enough to attract Google traffic. I went thru that bs back in the poker heyday and was a mod/admin for about 2 years before I said "fk it", worst job in the world by the way.

Its quite a niche, but if its a niche you love...I love seadoos...its a perfect match.

After Steph squashed the whole ponyboy thing over at PWCtoday I just lost respect for their site. Thats why I spend my freetime helping people here. That and the regulars here are some of the best, and quite funny.

Hey Sea Doo Guy, as the Griz astutely pointed out, the S/D forum has a "non Sea Doo PWC Talk section, so, why not follow his advice?

IMO, which is based upon being a member for about ten years, this Forum is legions above the other PWC Forums and is, again, IMO, the best place to gather information about your PWC, be it a Kawi, Polaris, S/D or Yami. (alphabetical order-not preference listed)

I've owned a couple 93 S/D GTX's since new, (still have em, just don't ride them much) however, after eye ballin' a bitchin' lookin' maroon/silver colored 2001 Jet Ski 1100 STX for several years that is parked a few trailers away from mine, when I saw a couple 1997's for sale over in Claremont, CA with only 20 hours on them a few years ago, I bought them.

Except for replacing one of the starter switches, IMO, they run a heck of a lot better than the 1997 S/D GTX's ,which I was contemplating purchasing a few days before the Kawi purchase.

That said, just in case Dr. H is monitoring this post, pleeeese Dr. H, don't reprimand me for expressing my opinion about the Kawi's over the S/D because, as pointed out above, I still have them thar S/D's. When I want a bouncing, fun ride, they are the ones I take off the trailer. And one of them has never had an engine rebuild. That bad boy must have at least 3000 hours on it.

The other one a friend capsized several years ago and failed to tell me about it until I tried to crank it over a few weeks later. It ran for a couple years, maybe two until the crank seized. I think the crank would have been ok but for it being defective at birth, so said a friend who looked at it.

So Sea Doo Guy, as you can see from the posts set forth herein, this is the place to start your Kawi Forum. Even Dr. H has/had a Polaris!
