is it worth the money or can i do it myself?

it's a '97 GSX. 80 hours. spotless clean. i only ran it 3 hours last year due to an injury. it was fast but sluggish off the line. i changed all the fuel lines over the winter. it is somewhat hard to start when it's cold. once it warms up it fires right back up. the idle was hella high so i had to turn it down a little. i called the dealer and they said they would do an annual service on it for $350. they pull the jet pump and check everything. should i just take it in and have them go over it? this is my first seadoo but i am somewhat mechanical. i can do a lot myself. carbs are a little tricky for me though.

thanks for any opinions. :hat:

Unless you found something, a major something, in the fuel lines when you replaced them I would have that service performed . It's better to find out something was wrong and get it fixed before the season starts than to find out something is wrong when you try to pull away from the boat ramp. Because at that point, your seadoo is likely to be in the shop for a loooong time because the repair guy is full up for the next month or two. If you do get the service; schedule it ASAP. SeaDoo service centers are already starting to back up with all the people getting theirs de-winterized and ready for the water.

If I sound pessimistic it's because my 98 SPX spent most of last summer in the shop. The engine would hesitate, acceleration was way off, it would die for no apparent reason, and it barely idled. They quoted three weeks before they could even look at it; and it was another 4 before it was fixed. It ended up being two main things; a badly fouled carburetor (difficult to get to), and a leaky cylinder gasket. Total parts and labor came out to around $400.

Now there is zero hesitation, it accelerates very quickly, and goes like a bat outta hell!
