Thermostat Replacement 2009 Speedster 150 HO

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well.

I am replacing my thermostat with a kit that I purchased from SBT. This is the first time that I've ever done this. Is there anything that I should be aware of before I attempt to do this or is it pretty straight forward? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It’s pretty straightforward. Remove the intake to get enough access and then keep track of the bolts to the housing. They are not all the same length.

Why are you changing thermostat?

Just saw the reply a little too late but for others benefit i'll answer. I replaced the thermostat because the coolant spilled everywhere. I looked for a leak and could not find one. i put more coolant and once the engine got to temp same thing happened. I replaced the thermostat and the issues was resolved.
