Hey guys,

Found the source of my water leak, and it's not the hose or the fitting. There is a small hole, approximately 2 mm square. You can't really see it very well in the pictures, but it is right behind the hose. The replacement part appears to be about $670. I was wondering if there were more cost effective ways to deal with this issue.

Would you advise against using something like JB Weld to repair the hole? Would simply taking the piece to a shop and having them weld the hole safely fix the issue?

Any advise would be appreciated.IMG_1229.jpgIMG_1230.jpg

Thanks,
RB

Take the exhaust pipe and have it tig welded, you might be able to do a temp. repair with JB Weld, tig welding will be permanent.

Like Lou said, tig welding would be a permanent repair. I had a hole, similar sized and location on my Sportster 1800 port exhaust. I cleaned it up good put a layer of JB Weld Marine epoxy on it, then reinforced it with a small piece of stainless mesh and another layer of JB Weld. Been two years and no issues.
