:hurray: cant wait

ill get more once shes mine

going to the beach today, will take some more pics of it today, sadly no in water shots, waters full of seaweed apparently :ack:

Seaweed.....

The ski is capable of chewing up and spitting out seaweed, as long as it's in pockets and not miles of it. If the marine growth is overcoming the area you ride, then it' best to leave on the trailer, since constant chewing of the seaweed will lead to ingestion through your cooling system.

the ski woulda been fine but we have not technically taken possession of the ski so it was the owners call on weather or not we could use it today:( and the water was GLASS, it was the perfect conditions

got a better look at the ski though, and have some more questions, i took the seat off and looked at the engine, is it normal for there to be like condensation on the engine?

also noticed some corrosion on some bolts, if i were to remove the drains and just rinse it off with fresh water, would i harm anything?

also im not happy with how the owners brother is storing it, uncovered outdoors this florida sun is warping the grip mats, should they return to a normal flat state once we get her indoors? or would i be better off replacing them with some new ones?

pics

closer front shot

and a rear shot, on the rear shot you can see the warpage on the grip mat, will that go away once its in a cool garage? or should i expect to be replacing those soon?

I have an 03 GTX SC and it has the same problem with the rear carpet. A cool garage won't do the trick. Heat from the sun has caused the carpet to warp. The newer Seadoo models have the carpet actually glued down, not riveted. Unless it's broken, I would just live with it. I'm sure you'll find other things to spend money on such as gas.

Have fun!

woot its home

washed out the engine bay and front compartment and pushed her into the garage :hurray:

had to make a slight repair to the trailer on the way home, the ubolts that hold the winch on weren't very tight (one slipped off.....:cuss:) so i had to tighten it down before continuing on

That's cool! When I bought mine this year I looked over the trailer real good, checked the lights, tires, everything, so I thought. Trailered it for about 30min heading home with and stopped for some gas. Looked at the trailer again and most of the lugnuts on one side had backed most of the way off, glad I saw it. torqued 'em down and went on. Good luck w/ your new ski, hope ya have fun with it.

couple of pics

can someone tell me what this hose/tube is? its under the rear seat section and goes to absolutly nothing? it looks like a spare intake tube....

after further searching there seems to be a simlar one at the front of the engine bay as well

some sort of vent tube?

i DL'd the 02 shop manual but it seems to not mention my 4tec at all

It is a vent tube so your seadoo gets good clean air...Its better than having it hold its breath...

its not attached to any part of the intake though?

so it allows outside air to enter the engine bay and then go into the filter assembly?

Seadoo wouldn't just add a hose to spend money...they do things for a reason, most of the time...:)

im not looking forward to tracking down where the very light oil residue i rinsed off the engine came from...

A lot of people will spray light oil or wd-40...(uh I do) after a days ride. Keep an eye on it in the future. If it seems like its still around than look a little closer for the source. No go have fun and stop worrying!

Karl

What does the light spray of WD40 do for you? Do you spray it all over the engine? Just trying to learn how to take care of my Doos.

My rubber stuff on the floor of mine is warped and it was and still it kept indoors when not in use. I was hoping to use it this weekend but it isn't finished. So I'm bored. Anyone in Galveston, TX. with a spare ski? JJ lol. I've heard about the WD-40. Will it get into the carbs? Or will that hurt it or not?
