The bronse pump

I'm not sure if there is any advantage to bronze, by my '05 Challenger 180 has an aluminum pump housing. I personally wouldn't go for a plastic pump, seems way to fragile to me. I seem to remember that the 2-stroke boats may have come with plastic pump housings, but I think there is a new part number that is aluminum. Take a look in the parts finder and see what it says for your year boat.

Bronze....

I think what your describing is the bronze stator vane section of the pump.

Oh, and they are not really made of plastic. Well, it's plastic but not the kind you'd think of.

That's kinda like saying, I'd ride in an airplane with aluminum wings but not one made with composite materials. If you saw them take these fibers and put them together to form the wings of a plane, you'd probably never fly again!..............(God knows I haven't since finding out)....
