I like it. I think 52 mph is top speed.

I am 42, and have a nice wife, and 6 kids. One more on the way.

I have no clue how a 110, or a 130 hp one is like.

This is all we want/need.

And, I have been told that the 717 motor is not built too hard, and thus is pretty reliable and lasts perdy good.

I'd check compression before I bought.

And if it has been sitting, maybe run some oil with the gas, on it's firs few tanks.

Also, pull plugs, and drop some oil in there, and crank it over, with a rag over it. If rusty crud comes up, you know there is trouble.

It just helps to extra lube things a bit.

I like it, but know not alot about the nicer ones. (seats 3, more power etc)

I am just an old 2 stroker from the '70's.

Whatcha payin fer it?

Nate

400 for the 85hp model, bought this gsx 110hp for 200 bucks with the trailer. alot of people like kustomkarl and snipe helped me get it going. it was sunk when i bought it and got it all cleaned up and going for less than 200 bucks so a 400 dollar investment has become alot of fun on the weekends. the one i am about to buy is in better condition than my gsx was. it will actually start and run. compression is 144 on #1 and 140 on #2 but it did shoot out some water when i first tried to get er fired up. think i am going to jump on the deal when i get off work. I hear u on the old 2 strokers or (smokers) as i like to call em. cant wait to get the jet ski going again. it was fun stock just no guts, could bareley pull me up outta the hole. it is an 81 and was completely factory!!!!

Well, this 1998 85 hp GS pulls me and me wife, and 2 kids right out of the hole, with NO problem! It will even jump the next wave.

It is nearly new, with probably less than 5 tanks of fuel through it.
