Thank you all

Thank you all that replied to my recent engine installation. Everything is together now no spark. What's the knowledge of known spark issues in a 99 GTX limited. Any suggestions is much appreciated. Thank you

If you didnt put the same mag flywheel onto your machine thag used to be on it, it will cause no spark issue.

Good morning, is that even if I matched up the stator with the same flywheel ? So I should put my stator and flywheel on the new motor off of the old motor ? No I did not pull the flywheel. Thank you for the response. This is driving me nuts trying to figure this out. I have had my head in this machine for 2 days.

Joining in the middle. 98 and 99 have different ignition systems. 98 is a single coil the other is a dual coil. They use two different mag cups. Shop manual shows an indentation in the flywheel that you use to line up the mag cup. mag cup, MPEM and coils all need to be from the same year.

Brother thank you. I'm going to dig into this motor again lol 3rd times a charm 😂 I'll post again once this thing fires up 🙏

the flywheel will be stamped different, im not sure buy you might be able to swap then whole flywheel so you dont need to mess with the cup
2strokeboy thank you for all your responses. You honestly have been very helpful in this. So I found out there is a hole in the flywheel. The cup has bumps( not sure the correct term) but the hole goes after the long bump. That's what I'm seeing. I'll let you know soon as this thing fires lol I'm anxious for sure lol

If you want to you could just run a wire brush on it to clean it up but its not really needed
So got everything in as it says to and I'm getting one single loud backfire. I'm going to turn the cup and see where we are.

Yup sounds out of time turn the cup till it becomes in time
So I seen something else. The piston closest to the cup all the way down. Then put the large bump to the top. What's your thoughts on that ? I'm going to move it around tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can get this thing going tomorrow.

im not sure how its timed because i just turned mine till i got in time. I had the sake issue. If i remember if was like i lined up the cup to the cut out and then turned it 1 bolt counter clockwise

2strokeboy you are the man thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.. the correct time was Piston closest to cup all the way down. Install the cup with the large bump to the top slightly counter clockwise to center. Just went for a test run. Runs like a brand new 99 GTX. Again thanks brother
