I am not sure what it is called exactly, but I am referring to the mechanism that pumps oil from the reservoir to the engines. I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to test if the mechanism is working or if it even pumps oil to the engines. I might be completely wrong on my understanding of how oil is delivered from the reservoir to the engines. If there is a sending unit how can i test if it is working to make sure that my engine is receiving oil. Any advice would be great thanks Mike. 1997 seadoo speedster.

Mike in the seadoo manual is a "Bench Test" for the pump. You need a dremel to rotate the pump and check how much oil it is pumping per a specific time . It isn't real accurate as it's hard to determine the exhaust rpm of the dremel and flow ratio, but it might give you the idea if it is pumping at all. You might want to become a "premium member" to download a manual from the seadoo forum. Click on the "seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for details.

testing it

is there any way to test the electrical portion of the oil injector. i see that there are two wires that run to the oil tank, what does that do and how can i check if the electric pump on the tank works. I'm guesing it works much like a fuel pump. Please let me know thanks Mike

Mike, The 2 wires to the tank are for the oil guage. It indicates to the light on the dash the oil is low...I think they are Blue and Blue/black wires. The oil pump is mechanical and is shaft driven off the crank, on the front or (Mag side) of the engine. Follow the oil lines to the oil pump from the tank. Disconnect the plug, light comes on indicates no oil.

oil injectors leeking

What systems would you see if the engine was not injecting the right amount due to a leak. what would the engines do if i was to increase speed while watching the motors. Which one of the oil lines would cause the engine not to attain the proper mixture. Please let me know, thanks Mike

What kind of leak are you talking about Mike? Is the tank leaking? Are the lines leaking? Repair the tank or replace the lines if that the case. The injector system is a simple one. Let me know what kind a leak you have.
