Yamahammer.....

Hmmm, Yamahammer...........O.K., I'll help you, even though this is a Seadoo forum.....

It don't matter, we're a happy family around here, so let me give it a shot. You don't specify whether its the 700 or 1100 model, so I went with the 700. I think the dealer is trying to get something from you for nothing; they are all crooks, I don't trust any of them. If the hours are what you say, then that motor should still be good. From what I see, it's a simple 2-cylinder (1100cc is a 3 cylinder) but it appears to be a well built, simple operation type, low maintenance engine.

Unless you get crap in your carbs or foul a plug, I think you should take it out and have fun!

If you want piece of mind, go to the auto parts store and buy a compression gage. You can get one for less than $20 bucks. Do a compression test, clean the fuel strainer, read the plugs. Are they oily? Are they dry?...that kinda stuff.

After you get the readings on your compression test, send them back in and we'll talk about it......................

Any time a dealer says" I'll take it off your hands..." means it's worth something to them. I agree, go have some fun with it.
