tach stopped working???

i went for my maiden voyage today, everything was good but realized my tach didn't work, now about 3 days ago i fired it up in the garage and it worked fine, where should i check first, and yes the gas gauge was working

Check the wiring, pay close attention to the plug connections. I believe the fuel guage and tech use the same power and ground wires to operate.

It's most likely a blown fuse..........:agree:

Ok i pulled the electrical box apart and both fuses on the mpem are good, i cleaned all the connections and still didn't work, is the yellow and red wire the signal wire?? because it isnt getting any power, the red wire to it has 12+ volts for 10-15 sec

i pulled the mag cover today, and the yellow/black wire has a constant 11.6 volts running or not, shouldn't it only have power when its running or is that the job of the 20ohm resistor that connects before the yellow red wire to the tach itself
