The prior owner of my boat (98 Challenger 1800) must have used some kind of solvent or something on the dash and the switche covers (lights, blower, bilge, etc.) are a gummy mess.....

Looking around the interweb, it appears I could -

A. Replace the entire switch at $30-$40 a pop.

B. Try to find some replacement switch covers, as the switches themselves seem fine. I found these @ $6 each-

Any idea if these will work or does anyone else have a place to source just the covers ????

TIA

Thats interesting. i didnt know you could replace just the cover. I have a few that are worn out and I am always on the hunt for new Carling switches. The 30 bucks a shot is ridiculous. It says it fits ALL Carling switches, so i would think they would work. someone needs to be a guinea pig...let us know if you buy them and they work.

And a tool to help remove the covers -

I love the internets.......

Yep looks correct to me. I tried searching after your first post but couldnt find much but the tool. Can you get these with the symbols on them?

I went ahead and emailed them to ask if they can be bought with the pictures on them. If so, I think I may be onto a business adventure here. Why not sell them in a kit for our boats with all the covers needed and the tool. You could sell them in a kit for like $25 on ebay. Beats the normal 25 per switch.

The first link has quite a few with symbols @ $6 each....the ones in the second link are all pretty generic (lights) but are only $1.30......It looks like the ARB locker switches are the same type as well, I might have one at home (other hobby, rockcrawling) which I will try to match up tonight before ordering....

They guy who makes them for off road trucks says he cant do marine stuff. I am waiting on 1 other place to email me back with a price.

I have found a few places that specialize in selling the covers for the off road truck enthusiasts.

I ended up ordering from these guys, great, quick service. They also threw a tool to renmove the covers in the box as well, and refunded me the price difference between the quoted shipping and actual shipping (didn't ask, just saw the refund in paypal)...about $20 to my door in 2 days, was feeling a bit broke after ordering the hydor turf and $50 worth of cupholders......:banghead:

Not exact matches, but since the boat was new to me anyways I still had to figure out what SeaDoo was thinking with their labels.....

They look good on there. I just wish I could find them with all the correct labels. No such luck yet.
