Can anyone tell me if you can change a 185 supercharger to a 215 super charger?? 2003 185 s/c and a 2006 215 s/c just want to know if they are compatable

Yes.......they are!

Yes, both the 2003 and the 2006 are exactly the same. Both compressor, shaft gear (16 teeth) and housing are an exact match.

If your looking to replace for more boost, that won't happen but if your needing a supercharger to replace or keep in standby for yours, the super chargers are the same........no intercooler required.

Manuals....

No, not according to the spec sheet, cross referenced with the parts index, they are exact.........

ok then so the 185 is a 17 tooth and the 215 is a 16 tooth right??

Yes thats correct. I did some research and that is the only diffrence. and from what i understand only way to use the 16 tooth supercharger is to change the gear on the crank or change the gear on the charger to the 17 tooth but then that kinda defeats the purpose cause you wont get the same boost levels.

You are correct....185 is 17 tooth and 215 is 16 tooth. I am positive of this because the supercharger rebuild kits are different for each model.

Check these links:

185 kit: http://www.sbtontheweb.com/Merchant..._Code=34-185&Category_Code=A4&Product_Count=0

215 kit: http://www.sbtontheweb.com/Merchant..._Code=34-186&Category_Code=A4&Product_Count=1

Hope this helps!

Matt

Matt, I looked at your links, but they don't post which year you are looking at in the rebuild kits, so I think they must both be from the same year. The question he asked is a difference between two different years.

That's why I hate the way they have the 4-TEC engines set up. They make it all but impossible to identify components at a glance, unlike the old 2 strokes.

Let me go over the question that was asked one more time. He wants to know if there is any difference between the 2003, 185 horsepower supercharger and the 2006, 215 horsepower supercharger. There is not. They both have 16 teeth. The 2006 model has 2-GTX supercharged models, one is the 215 hp limited edition, which has 16 teeth and the other is the standard GTX, 185 hp edition, which has 17 teeth. So while both GTX's, one from 2003 and the other a 2006 are 185 hp, the earlier model has 16 teeth and the newer model has 17 teeth. But in his question, he's asking about the difference between the two years and horsepowers.

I had to dig a bit deeper since both my part references were coming up with the same part number for the super charger gear and housings. But when Matt saw a difference when comparing SBT, I had to pull up a spec sheet from Seadoo's web site. I've used SBT a few times for engines, etc.....before we had our own parts warehouse, but there have been a few times when their parts didn't match up. This is why it's great to have a manual. The part numbers for the engine and all the components are listed........

OK, If I put the 2006 RXP 215 S/C in my 2003 185 S/C it wouldn't bolt on???
If it dose fit and I changed my 2003 185 Supercharger and put in a 2006 215 supercharger it would not change my horse power at all?

Correct.......

Correct....The 2006 215 hp charger is the same one you have on your 2003 185 hp. But the 2006, 185 hp has 17 teeth, so it will not fit the 2003 185 hp. It sounds confusing........but either way, you'll get no more boost from changing your super charger between these two.

Thanks Snipe. I wanted to get more boost but will have to go with an external cooler on my 185 s/c then with a solas impellar. any other quick and easy mods I can do myself

Member?.....

There is a member who has modded his RXP with the RIVA stage III. He's pretty good with the 4-TEC mods. You might want to look him up and drop him a PM, see what he has to say. His name is "meirvin".

In my opinion, the cost of what your looking to do, outweigh the benefit of added speed. You can go with a new intake grate, helps you hook up faster.

There just isn't a whole lot you can do with the 4-TEC without major kit changes outside of impeller and grate. Maybe a new power nozzle.

Check with meirvin, see what he has to say.
