Hi all , new to the site

I was riding my PWC and it was topping out at 62-63 MPH , which is way lower than the usuall 70 MPH it cruises at ... I was on the phonewith my brother in law trying to figure it out and didnt realize the water was so shallow and sucked some rocks into my RXP-X .... with the help of the marina mechanic I pulled off the impeller housing ....

Noticable damage :

The plastic fins inside the pump support are cracked and uneven . Does this need to be replaced or are those fins unimportant ?

The impeller has some tiny nicks , its not bent and feels like its spinning freely , but Im not sure how much damage is too much ..

One of the stones got wedged bettween the impeller blades and the vanes of the impeller housing , causing a slight bend of one of the vanes ...

The plastic wear ring had some deep grooves ... Im thinking this may be the reason it was topping out so low .. would that be a good guess ?

Im having the mechanic change the wear ring , and I plan on putting it back in the water tommorow and seeing how she does ....

What should I be looking for as far as problems , and how can I tell if the impeller is damaged to the point of replacement ... Im sure the dealership will want to replace it regardless of weather it really needs it .

What else may have been damaged , that I should check out ...

Stupid mistake on my part :ack:

Thanks is advance for any help ...

Also ,if the impeller needs replacing is all this work something I can do myself ? Seems pretty simple and Im somewhat mechanically minded ...
