sucked up a piece of wood

I was out the other day and the boat started to lose power, I instantly figured I had sucked up something and blew my wear ring. Put it back on the trailer right away and pulled out a piece of drift wood jammed in the impeller. I pulled it out and went back out only to be going 10mph at about 3000 rpm’s. I figured i blew my wear ring but they look good as new. This drive shaft sleeve is something i’ve never seen before, is this my only problem? How do i fix it? just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.

From what I've read on here you don't need the sleeve and they are no longer made and hard to find. I think dr. honda posted one time that if they are off by even a little they can cause cavitation problems. Sounds like most run without the sleeve and mine doesn't have one on either shaft. Hopefully yours was causing you to cavitate. Easy enough fix if so

that was it! Pulled the one out and ran better, Still running rich though, it’s not achieving full speed or power, sounds like the engines are bogging down a bit. Im going to throw new plugs in it and take it out to see how that goes

Did the driftwood cause the engine to stop suddenly? You said started to lose power.

Sudden stops to spinning things are never good. Good Luck
