I just ordered my engine from sbt, but the gasket kit comes in a single or dual carb, this is a twin engine boat, I've gotta think it's a dual carb right? I don't have the boat in front of me to check.

This is a reasonable question IMO, too. One large carb instead of two smaller ones. Might be same BN40 carb as 1998 GS ski, except 1998 GS has the fuel pump on the carb and the boat has the remote fuel pump. Not 100% sure about this.

lol no offence, but if you're not sure, why reply? I've got 2 replies and they both contradict each other, that's not helping me.

You have a single carb per engine with a external fuel pump that sits above the each engine on a bracket....

so does that mean I have 2 separate carbs? which gasket kit am I supposed to purchase from sbt? 2 single carb gasket kits? or 1 dual carb gasket kit?

One single carb kit.... U need 2 if your redoing both engines...you don't have dual carbs per engine.... You have a single carb that feeds both cylinders on same engine...1998 seadoo sportster 1800.....717 right?....go to seadoowarehouse and you can look up your boat and all the specs..

K.....just making sure it wasn't just the sportster or speedster because I don't know then....let us know how it turns out...

Np....I have a Sbt engine and it has been doing fine.... I bet you'll be happy with it...security means a lot on the water... Just do the rest of the install correct.... Align that motor up....
