Stripped driveshaft on a 2010 Wake Pro

Hey everyone,

My driveshaft stripped out on my 2010 Wake Pro last weekend with about ~350 hours on it. There was an issue with the driveshafts on the 2009-2010 units so they updated the parts. Has anyone done this swap yet? It looks like I am replacing the bearing and the carbon seal as well.

Should I be concerned about the driveshaft alignment? I have the alignment tool for the older 'doos but I need to get a new alignment plate to work on the new models. The new driveshaft kit is just shy of $500, the alignment plate is an additional $400 plus the shims. I want to get an new impeller as well so this is going to be an expensive fix!

Any opinions on which impeller to get?

Thanks in advance for your input!

No alignment needed. Engine will still be in the same location. Solas impeller or oem is fine. Grease the driveshaft going into the impeller.

I like pictures so I though I would share what I found when I finally got time to take the unit apart. I was surprised that the driveshaft was in so much worse shape then the impeller. I am also a little concerned because I have the updated driveshaft part which I though was suppose to be better construction then the original "screw on" carbon ring seal. I have been looking for replacement parts and I noticed that several venders sell updated driveshafts for the 2010 models and I wonder if one of those kits was used and the parts are of lower quality. Is there any way to tell who made the driveshaft?
