streeing broke on 95 gtx

First, the forward most streeing end broke off ,so i retheaded that, this was good for one ride. Now I can turn left but not right it is like somthing is jumping out of a socket! No streeing at all right ,but I can jam it back it in . It will turn if you go very slow to the right , So I procured another 95 gtx for parts. I was tring to remove the streeing cable aft, but the plastic nut on the outside will not come off. How does it come off ? Are all streeing cables this hard to get off the boat? It appears that the entire cable assemble comes out? Can any one tell me what to do ?
