Storing Rebuild Carburetors

I've completed the rebuild on the lower end. Lubed the crankshaft/rotary gear/ seals and bearings with oil as I don't know how long it will be before I have the oil system hooked up.

Rebuild the carbs with mikuni parts and verified popoff. Problem now is I have to break away from the project for maybe a few months (travel) and won't have them installed.

So questions are:

  1. Is it bad to store the motor without the oil tank/lines hooked up?
  2. I tried to spray fogging oil into the carb inlets but not sure if this is the same as spraying when it is cranked
Thanks in advance
