ok, took the jetski out for the first time today and i ended up getting a bit daring on it, how once you are in the water do you get back on the jetski, also my kill switch isnt working which means i had to chase down the jetski, that was fun, lol, but overall a pretty good 1st experience on a jetski

Lol....

That was really funny. Had me on the floor LMAO.....
You have to get on from the back when in the water. If your a bit heavy, it will be unstable.........
The kill switch.....is it a DESS post? If so, if it starts, it should stop when it's pulled off the post, provided your wearing the lanyard pull strap around your wrist.
If it's the old model switch, the button my be sticking. Try and clean with some CRC or other electrical cleaner, then put some die-electric grease on it. That might do the trick.

yes its the lanyard kill switch, the thing kept running even though it came off with me, i attached it to my life jacket......neither that or the stop is functioning for some reason, i actually have to pull the choke to kill it when i needed to stop, so this is why i had to chase it down :) should of video taped it, seeing it in real life im sure would of been more amusing then just describing the incident but since i was right down from the bridge im sure the people crossing was laughing also

uh...you might want to check the steering, fuel level, Lanyard stop switch, Oil injector level, and the parachute before you leave the dock.

Just kidding about the parachute...

I pulled the start switch wires off and tasted continuity, could not test lanyard switch but when I put it all back together it now works. Must have been a bad connection. You might want to try this.

It sounds like it had a corroded connection. You could use contact cleaner and dielectric grease.
