I am still battling a mid RPM hesitation on my 1995 GTX. New fuel line, rebuilt carbs, new spark plugs/boots. Just before it comes up on plane, it misfires. It pulls great out of the hole, and tops out at 43.4 MPH. Compression is OK at 110 PSI (at 4200+ ft elevation). Plugs read good. Any ideas?

If its missing at all, your timing could be off with the ignition system. is it missing, or back firing?

did you mess w/ RV plate/ stator at all?? mess with the lsa settings, while out rip'n?? When rebuilt carb/s, did you inspect float-arm position before and/or mess with float spring, or replaced it???

I bought this ski a couple of months ago. It ran well when I first bought it, and slowly deteriorated. I figured it was the tempo fuel lines. I had a shop rebuild the carbs for me. It just seems wierd that it runs so well except the flat spot at 15MPH. I don't think it's backfiring, I can hear it miss. Once on plain, it runs great. It's just that one spot.

I didn't mess with any settings. When I started having the mid throttle miss, I had the carbs rebuilt. It was most apparent when towing a tuber. I had my choice - anything but full throttle and it would sit at 15MPH missing, or floor it and wait a second for it to take off to 40MPH. (needless to say, the tuber didn't like the 40+MPH)

did you replace the gray lines before or after the carb were done because i just went throught the same thing with my 96 xp i replaced the lines after i did the carbs but i rode the ski 2 times before changing the lines and it clogged the filters in the carbs . also did you change the fuel valve or at least clean it real good because alot of the gunk from the lines sit in the valve and can clog the carb and if you valve is clogged it isnt getting enough fuel . that just what i have discovered . hope this helps
