Stiff shift lever

Have noticed that the Fwd / Rev. shift lever is quite stiff to move. What can I do to lubricate that without gumming up the works?

I had the same issue, I took off the bolts holding the reverse bucket to each pump off , cleaned the area, greased it all up and re-installed. There is a fine line when making the bolts tight, make sure the bucket moves freely and then re-install the F-N-R cable and you should be good to go. If that doesn't fix it, you might need a new cable.

Agree, it depends on if the shift cable is worn/corroded inside or the fittings/pivot points in the linkage.

I think if the cable is stiff and binding you will discover a replacement is the best choice and money well spent.
