I have a 1998 GTX the throtle is sticking open inside the carb. I have spayed it and let it soak with everything from WD40, PB blaster to CRC. It seemed to help at first but is back to sticking. I can manually close it at the carb. Is it a tough job to remove the carb? Any other ideas. I disconnected the thumb lever, thats not what is sticking. Thanks

On each side of the throttle valve(the butterfly inside) is a small Teflon bushing that allows the valve to open and close properly. Chances are you have some corrosion inside the bushings and they need to be replaced. If your not to mechanically inclined, it might turn into a project for you . I would test to see if it is the problem first. Unhook the throttle cable and see if you can open and close the throttle valve by hand with the engine not running. The spring on the throttle valve should snap it closed. If it doesn't than it needs to be pulled apart and replace the bushings. Usually salt water will cause the corrosion to form. If the valve snaps closed then it might be the throttle cable.
Let us know how you make out.
