steering problemas

OK so in the test that I did yesterday I couldn't steer much to the pint I was using the engines to steer since it wouldn't turn much at all. when I came out the water the part that is used to steer one was loose I could move it in any direction I wanted the other would not, wish is the way I think it needs to be. any ideas? please I need help

I managed to find it the cables where wood it was only that one of the nuts felt off and the system wasn't working at all.

my vocabulary when it comes to boats is horrible. but your idea is really good minnetonka4me. next time I'll show up armed with pictures to replace words. Thanks anyway guys.
