Ok have a 2010 sea-doo Challenger 180. Boat is great noticed it is very unresponsive to left hand turn will turn left but take longer than turning right. I have read up on steering lock nut being plastic and after market ones are 7075t6 or brass. I looked at the IPC and cant find that part? Was there a design change? I see threads sticking out the transom for the steering and a stainless steel nut . I do get full throw left to right.?

first thing is to check nozzle is centred, ensure helm is straight then check if nozzle is straight.
then turn helm full lock one way then the other way, while checking if the nozzle has the same amount of movement both ways. (the helm can also out of alignment, so check that the helm has the same amount each way)

Very common for a cable support to fail and the cable flexes under a load. Also common for the housing to separate and the inner core can't push the nozzle as the outer sleeve is not in tact.

So you need to do some digging.

Hey rcookr1. Do you mind explaining a bit more on the fix. Like where the nut is etc. My boat is in the water. Cheers!
