Steering Cable Replacement 2005 Islandia

Well, my 2005 Islandia with a Merc250 DFI steering cable broke on the first day out on the water this year. I was wondering if this is a do it yourself fix? and does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about it. I found the replacement cable on Sea-Doo parts but I'm looking for any hints as to how to do it myself.

thanks

Straight replacement. You will need some sealant at the inboard rubber at jet tunnel. Be sure to replace the rubber bellow at the steering nozzle or you replace the cable again next season.

The cable is not a made-by-seadoo part. It is a heavy control cable made by many companies. Should be less than $200.

You should have service book for boat and Mercury drive.
