steering cable problem

hi helpers

i changed the steering cable on my 2012 230 sp today, is was stuck.

now i have a hard time finishing the Job, could someone with a boat have a look at the last boot in the cable - if you steer full to the right do you also get some thread from the last rod in the boot?

i have a hard time to imagine this is right - but i cant see a way out..

if this is correct, no wonder the cables are failing after one Saison..
