Just got done char grillin up some hefty rib steaks and ran into the question i face everytime. do i use steak sauce or Bar-b-que sauce?
what do you guys add to your steaks?

I think tonight its gona be Sweet baby rays sweet n spicy:drool5::drool5:

Gotta use Italian dressing and let them marinade for about 3 days before you grill them. It works for chicken too... then flip them over only 1 time on the grill.

I grow piquins in my backyard, but the damned birds like them as much as I do. They pick them off daily before I get a chance to get at them.

If I ever get to them first, I have a couple sauce recipes I want to make.

Zaaschila makes some great sauces, they are just hard as hell to find...

Rub it with salt, pepper, and any of your favorite spice. Then I soak it with some soy sauce, worcheschire, and some olive oil. Stick in the fridge for an hour or two...great flavors!!!

When I'm usually grillin I make a BBQ Sauce Mix for whatever i grill. the usual mix is Steakhouse bbq sauce from bullseye mixed with a hot sauce called Prarie fire and then I toss in some hot sauce from the asian market(with a name i could never spell) and mix it all up with some steak spice.

Mmmm.... Now I want to go grill me up a steak.

Salt, pepper, and a few other spices. Putting sauce on a steak here in Oklahoma is blasphemy!

Put it on a grill for a few seconds, wipe its ass and send it out. I'll eat what I want and ride the rest home.

LOL that was a great post :-)

I love my ribs covered in a sweet honey/bbq sauce, combine that with grilled Jalopenao's stuff with creamcheese salsa dip, a few Sam Adams and good running boat and Life is great!

My opinion - Steak sauce is the worst thing for a beef steak (ruins the flavor). BBQ sauce is only good for pork or chicken.

I will use either of two marinades: 1) your favorite beer (2 or 3) and some good spices - let the steaks soak for at least 2 hours. 2) a good red merlot (wine) + spices - same thing, let soak for a good 2 hours.

A steak marinaded this way and cooked to a warm, medium rare and the flavor of the beer or wine comes out with every bite. Hmmmm, now I getting hungry!

Of course, a simple salt and pepper and garlic rub makes the perfect "get it on the grill now, I'm hungry" seasoning for beef and chicken.

And the absolute worst thing anybody can do to a piece of beef is cook it anything beyond medium! Gross....

I would agree. If you have to put anything on a steak its either A: Not cooked very well, B:Not a real good cut of meat, or C: Your just plan weird. JK

OK but if i had to put something on a "not so tasty steak" i would say some Jack Daniels Steakhouse with a smooth glass of Mr. Jack himself on the rocks!!
