starting problems with 97 gsx

Hey ya'll. New to seadoos and the keys used. We're having trouble starting our 1997 gsx. It appears to be a problem with the connection within the key. It will start sometimes, but appears that the contacts lose sonnection and shots off. Sometimes it will only start if we hold the key against the connection hard. If this a common problem? What can be done to remedy? Thanks.

Clean the key.... If that doesnt do the trick then you'll have to get a new key, and sense your ski is a 97 you will have to take it to a dealer to get a new one programed
