Hi there all. I have a small problem. My frinds 1999 sea doo gsx got flooded up to the carbs, I have taken carbs off and drained and cleaned, got all water out of cylanders, and cleanded all electrical with a fast dry spray, however the starter is acting up it might click, or turn over a few time then nothing. I suspect that the starter is wet in side and needs to be taken off, I found two nuts on starter, and removed however it will jiggle a bit but it wont pull out. what am i missing, is there a securet to removing the starter, is there a nut or bult that i cant find. It only took me an hour to take it all a part but need to get starter off so i can take it apart to clean and give a good dry. the engin is the 951cc could some one please help me as I realy want to get this sea doo up and working for the last long weekend of the summer. Plus is there anything els i should do other then what I have already done sins it was flooded up to the carbs

thanks
guys

Andrew

Andrew look closely at the starter for another screw holding it on. When you get it back together be sure you have all the water out and you get it started as quickly as possible to prevent it from getting rusted inside.

starter issues

T|hanks for the reply, I was looking at some starter diagrams from a parts list and it only shows to bolts towards the back I have removed them I have felt all around the starter and I do not feel any more nust or bults. Do i need to just pry it out with a big flat head screw driver. I dont want to bugger things up. If any one can give me more sugestons i would be very pleased and great full

thanks
Andrew

Just give it a slight tap with a rubber mallot, if all the nuts and bolts are removed...

Karl may know something that I do not know but looking at your parts break down I only see 2 bolts It sounds like it may be frozen in the starter drive assembly [rusted ?] you may try and use a litle more force but be carefull not to break any thing.
