Starter Rebuild

Have replaced starters with the cheap ebay starters over the years. Both starters now just clicking. Ran jumpers to each starter from battery, nothing for either starter. What are the odds? One was half full of water and the other smelled fried. In reading threads, it is recommended to rebuild original starters rather than replace with the cheap black ones. Fortunately I saved my OEM starters. Just got Caltrix rebuild kits for starters. In working with the first starter, I bent up the clip to get the rotor from the case. Now trying to remove the bearing from the rotor, anyone have any ideas on this? Also, anyone able to remove that clip without destroying it? I have a second starter to doo after this first one.

Got the bearing off with a $10 gear puller and vise. Now I see why rebuilds typically do not include replacing the bearing. I skipped the bearing replacement and clip removal on the second starter, brushes only. Tested starters on bench, checked out. Installed them and found both lacking power and whining. It looks like a couple more cheap ebay starters for me.
