Starter makes a running sound but I do not hear it click to engage .! I gave it a tap but sounds the same ??? Any one out there with a Idea!!

Yes I just read some of the other Threads and I would say thats it . I hope it is easyer to pull the starter than it looks .

It could be the starter motor, solenoid sounds fine.
Can the motor be turned by hand? On the rotax motors you can just grab the PTO flywheel with the spark plugs out and turn it by hand, with the mercury you might need to attach a wrench to somewhere, but do it with the plugs out anyways...
