I had my speedster out today for the first time ran great, but when we shut her down and went to restart we had no power in the right engine limped in went home cleaned out the fuel filters, started engines up ran great, took back to the water fired 1 engine up but the other one wont turnover sounds like the starter is stuck, any Ideas can I try tapping on it with a block of wood? Thanks for any help.

Check the wiring from the battery with special attention of the ground going to the starter area. If the wire is corroded or not getting a good connection it won't turn over. Be sure the battery has a good charge on it too. Also if the battery is old swap it with the other engine...or have it load tested at like Auto Zone for free. If it has a bad cell or 2 it won't have the amps to start the engine.

Have a new battery, was running great but now it just makes a noise like the starter is stuck kinda clunks

You might want to remove teh spark plugs and where the boot is at the PTO, see if the engine turns over by hand counter clockwise...it might be seized. Does the starter rotate it with the plugs out? Most likely problem is the ground wire is not getting a good connection.

Ok this is the 3rd post... It is more than likely the ground wire going to the starter...It is corroded or not making a good connection.Post #2,#4 and #6.
Problems like this could have multiple solutions...That's why I gave you different things to check, but always the first is the bad ground connection.

That's not the problem...I suggested you checked the ground in several posts... you can post as often s you like. Your starter problem has be asked about 50 times a week with the same results on the cure... but it could be several things to check to be sure. :)

If you turn over fine without the plugs in, make sure you don't have any water in the cylinders. Check the voltage across the battery while you are cranking, this can tell you a simple load test on the battery. Good Luck!!!!!

Well I pulled the plugs hit the button a few times and it turned over put plugs back in stated up and took back to the lake with no problems! thanks for the help!
